University Ombudsperson
Northern Illinois University is accepting applications for the position of University Ombudsperson to begin in August, 2012. The Ombudsperson at NIU serves students, staff and faculty and reports both to the President of the University and to the University Council. Minimum credentials include an MA degree in a related discipline, although a doctorate is preferred. Salary is competitive and commensurate with degree and experience. Preference will be given to individuals with ombudsperson experience in, and an understanding of, the unique culture of, a research university with a strong tradition of shared governance. Applicants must adhere to the Code of Ethics and the Standards of Practice of the International Ombudsman Association. Applications will be reviewed beginning on June 1 and continuing until the position is filled.
